Assistant Project Manager

  • As Assistant Project Manager for Metro Walls, Inc, you will be responsible for helping our Project Managers, and occasionally our Estimators, complete the daily tasks required for pricing purposes, accounting, invoicing, Document management, and communications with our customers. Some of these duties include:
  • Write RFI’s at the PM’s direction
  • Takeoffs for ASI’s, Bulletins, Change orders at PM’s/Estimator’s direction. Final review and pricing would be done by PM or Estimator before sending to the GC.
  • As time allows, occasionally provide takeoffs for small projects.
  • Assist in writing change proposals/RFC’s related to changes above.
  • Compile AWO slips for PM’s and provide RFC’s to be sent to the GC.
  • Assist PM with job related correspondence and paperwork as needed, as PM’s are often on the road.
  • Assist in gathering and entering data from vendor quotes for Estimator/PM/Exec review
  • Possibly assist with submittal process, as directed by PM
  • Assist with keeping ProCore up to date with current documents
  • Assist with keeping ComputerEase (accounting software) up to date with change orders
  • Create purchase orders for materials as directed by PM, calls from Foremen
  • Assist PM with vendor invoice approvals – price comparisons
  • Draft and track contracts with our own subcontractors as directed by PM.
  • Print plans for PM’s and estimators as needed
  • Assist with filing project paperwork in the PM’s binders as needed
  • Project closeout docs – prepare warranty letters for PM’s when projects are complete


Requirements:

Preferred:

  • Ability to read blueprints, specs
  • Some Estimating experience, Knowledge of OST/Quick Bid
  • Some Assistant PM or PM experience, understanding of construction processes and procedures

Warehouse Manager / Driver

  • Currently holds DOT driving license/card required to drive delivery vehicles
  • Currently holds and maintain valid driver’s license, Loss of license may be grounds for dismissal
  • Have and maintain a clean driving record (MVRs will be reviewed bi-annually)
  • Capable of following directions and familiar with navigation assistance devices
  • Effectively communicate with company office and jobsite personnel to ensure timely and correct delivery/pick-up of materials and locations etc., including job site cleanouts
  • Capable of reviewing and coordinating job site and warehouse deliveries using electronic company delivery schedule
  • Capable of reviewing and coordinating vendor deliveries or pick-ups at vendor locations using company delivery schedule
  • Coordinate drivers with appropriate deliveries and vehicles in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Field daily calls from company Project Managers and Foremen regarding deliveries, materials orders etc. and being able to effectively relay that information as needed to additional drivers
  • Capable of identifying materials, tools and equipment common to the trade
  • Receive, sort and distribute accordingly, daily warehouse/office deliveries and shipments
  • Clean, maintain and organize warehouse and shop areas, including warehouse bathroom
  • Maintain warehouse/shop and jobsite equipment, such as forklift, baker scaffolds, ladders etc. to ensure all equipment is operable and/or properly maintained or repaired as needed
  • Maintain sufficient stock of required items, such as bundling supplies, shrink wrap, baker scaffold components, fuel for forklifts, delivery truck maintenance items, such as fluids, tie-down straps, flagging etc. 
  • Maintain required DOT items for all delivery trucks and equipment
  • Supervision of all deliveries and warehouse personnel
  • Complete office and maintenance duties such as stock office supplies, change and clean lighting fixtures, clean and organize tool room etc.
  • Position includes work to be completed at various jobsite and office/yard locations for Metro Walls Inc., as well as, Atlantic Prefab Inc. and Exterior Designs Inc.
  • Ensure warehouse is closed, locked and all lights turned off, each night upon leaving at the end of day/shift and that all deliveries have been brought into the warehouse
  • Keep and maintain a clean and organized parking lot and material yards as needed, including:
  • Shoveling and salting/sanding of walkways, door entrances and miscellaneous icy or trouble areas during winter months
  • Keep planting beds clean and free of weeds and trash
  • Keep dumpster area neat and clear on pick up day each week
  • Removal of trash, cardboard and shipping debris daily
  • Removal of trash, leaves, bundling material etc. from yard storage areas
  • Capable of handling materials and equipment common to the trade
  • Capable of standing/walking frequently, including frequent bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting, including overhead, and pulling/pushing
  • Must be capable of lifting 75lbs.
  • Capable of keeping up with the physical and production demands of the job responsibilities listed above in a healthy and safe working manner
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities as needed, based on company and project production needs to ensure project goals and requirements are being achieved
  • Responsible for personal means of transportation to and from the workplace
  • Required to represent Metro Walls Inc. in a professional manner at all times

Estimator

  • As Estimator for Metro Walls, Inc your primary function is to produce accurate and timely estimates, which will result in profitable jobs and revenue.
  • Land work!
  • Produce estimates in a timely fashion, according to the bid schedules that are created by the EVP and Chief Estimator.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using On Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with reading and writing skills - emails, letters, proposals.
  • During a bid, it is your responsibility to speak with the customers. Let them know you’re bidding, ask them questions/send RFI’s as needed to put together a complete estimate.
  • Review all plans and specs at time of bid to ensure accuracy.
  • Produce well written, detailed, accurate proposals for our bids with project specific inclusions and exclusions, in addition to many boilerplate items. These proposals are meant to clearly outline our scope so as to avoid any confusion down the road. Detailed to the point that we could almost build the project based on the proposal.
  • Follow up with customers on a regular basis after submitting bids. Get feedback and ultimately close deals with customers.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date bid information in the company’s CRM pipeline software. This includes schedule information, feedback on pricing, contact information, and % hot fields or more.
  • The Estimator position reports to the Chief Estimator for daily operations, such as bid reviews, questions related to plans/specs, questions regarding proposal writing, understanding Metro Walls typical scope and other day to day tasks.
  • The Estimators and Chief Estimator will report to the EVP for general sales info and management. Examples: All final pricing/final approvals, negotiations, contract issues (after award), scope review meetings with customers, updates on project feedback, For help closing a deal, Time off requests, Issues/concerns, Performance reviews
  • Participation in networking events, often outside of work hours, is strongly encouraged.
  • Bid Deadlines are very important. This position requires flexibility in hours as necessary to complete work in a timely manner.
