Metro Walls Donates $10,000 to NH Food Bank this Holiday Season

Mike Dion, President of Metro Walls is pleased to announce the recent donation of $10,000 to the New Hampshire Food Bank.

The donation allowed the NH Food Bank to purchase just before the holidays, nearly 10,000 pounds of food to help support their mission of working to provide nutritious food and resources to the hundreds of thousands of New Hampshire residents in need.

In addition to the $10,000 donation Metro Walls recently completed a three-year $30,000 commitment to the NH Food Bank’s capital campaign in which monies were allocated to help purchase a new freezer and help with construction of a new partner agency room.

“We are very thankful for Mike Dion’s corporate and personal long-time support of the New Hampshire Food Bank,” said Mel Gosselin, New Hampshire Food Bank, Executive Director. “In addition to his generous financial donations, he and his staff are always volunteering their time.  They were here today to unload the truck that carried the food their generous donation purchased and they had an entire team at our first annual Mac-Off. We can’t thank them enough for their commitment to our mission.”

According to the NH Food Bank this time of the year many NH residents are faced with paying for food – or paying for heat. There are 1 in 9 men, women and children who are food insecure; meaning they do not know where their next meal will come from. Of this number 44,440 are children under the age of 18.

“Hunger is a real issue in New Hampshire,” said Mike Dion, President of Metro Walls. “As a local New Hampshire company, I feel we have a commitment to help our community. The New Hampshire Food Bank is an outstanding organization that is making a difference and assisting countless families across the state. I’m happy to support this organization - their work continues to amaze me.”

The New Hampshire Food Bank distributes nutritious food to more than 400 partner agencies who, in turn, distribute to food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, children’s programs, senior centers and more.
